Seth Stone 4 months agoGym is clean and the staff is friendly. The reason for my rating is the very obvious disparity in quality and quantity of the weights and machines at the keystone location. For a gym that gets a bust as this one it absolutely baffles me that there is only one set of easy bars in the whole gym. We have one decent chest supported row machine. I don’t understand the reasoning but ive seen a variety of the machines at the noblesville location and they have many more high quality machines that seem like they belong in a top tier body building gym while the keystone gym gets the planet fitness knockoffs.
Amanda Schmidt 8 months agoWe’ve been going to this gym for about two years now and the lack of cleanliness and friendliness from the staff is alarming. Staff could absolutely care less about their jobs / guests that come into the gym. Typically around 5:30-6am, there will be two staff members at the desk on their phones, and when asked about empty towels or cleaning spray, they just stare at you or say they don’t care. Comparing this gym to the Avon location which I’ve been to a couple times, is like night and day. Very clean gym and super friendly staff. You’d expect the same type of atmosphere in the same franchise, but the lack of effort by the staff (starting with management) at the keystone location is alarming. I don’t think it’s too much go ask for a gym that’s clean, has cleaning spray and stocked paper towels for guests to wipe down their equipment. Or to have the upstairs cardio equipment get dusted more than once every 3-4 months. It’s a great location and other guests are always very friendly, it’s just a shame that management and staff could care less about hospitality, or taking any kind of pride in their jobs whatsoever.
Kenneth Young 7 months agoI've been holding off on a public review for a long time. I've been going to this Crunch since around the time they opened. They layout is great. The cleanliness and gym culture here is awful. Everyone leaves all the barbbells and machine with plates on them. It's not uncommon to see all 6 bench presses with plates left. Same with the racks and Hammerstrengths. Who needs to put dumbbells away? A few signs were put up but it has just gotten worse. I walk around between sets and just clean plates. I just got done clearing about 1,500 lbs of plates, putting EZ Bars back and dumbbells. But don't worry, if you bring it up to staff they just shrug it off. There's always a good 3 people at the front on their phones or chatting with nothing to do. I've even seen trainers with clients that walk away with bars loaded. The cleaning up weights is an issue at Michigan Rd too. However, it's a uniquely Crunch Indianapolis problem. I went here when it was LA and everyone cleaned up after themselves, worked in on equipment etc. I go to the other LA's in the area, Planet Fitness, Anytime, Peak (been awhile), and Livrite at times and this isn't a problem anywhere. I've also been to at 5 to 10 other Crunches across the country with much less issues. Oh! And don't forget all the photos and videos in the bathrooms! If you want to be featured in someone's IG post, the lockerroom is the place to be! I've politely said things to the people doing it and they get mad. I've mentioned it to staff and nothing changes. If you want a low budget gym with a diverse amount of equipment, turf space, racks, platforms etc., this is the place. But if want to work out in a place of etiquette, respect, cleanliness, and personal responsibility... then run. Unofrtunately, I like the space too much and keep coming back but it might not be for much longer.
Jacob Galyean 2 months agoDue to medical reasons, I was unable to come in physically to the gym to cancel my membership, and then needed to handle moving for a new job in a different state the month after. Figured I'd foot the bill this month and cancel it when I could be back in Indiana. Come to find out, they charged me $59.99 + $17.99 this month right when I'm finally able to come in person to cancel my subscription. PLUS they have this shitty AI that you have to talk to now if you call since the gym was always too understaffed (another problem with the owner, big penny pincher this guy!) for the phone to be picked up by a real person. Horribly malicious in every sense of the word. Planet Fitness is cheaper and not hellbent on squeezing you for everything you're worth, having great customer service and allowing you to cancel your membership without being physically there - my dad had done so and had no issues with them. I would also like to add should the owner choose to respond: To reject that the "be there physically and pay the next month's subscription" is malicious tells me one of two things: 1.) The owner has never worked an honest day in his life, either due to being young and not understanding how life works or due to sitting back and getting money through these subscriptions and overworking his employees. 2.) The owner knows it's malicious and is being obtuse.
Stealth Mind 2 months agoI canceled my membership with a manager and I am still being charged for a membership with late fees. I think gyms should have an easier way to cancel memberships and not have to go through a freight train to cancel something I paid for. They are saying I should’ve left my real name but I emailed everyday - do your job and check your emails.
