I just joined Planet Fitness. I was only able to use my membership once before they closed down for 3 weeks. On May 30, I received an email saying the gym would be closed from May 31 through June 19 for renovations. I wasn't notified when I signed up, and I wasn't told during my first visit. They gave members the option to use other Planet Fitness locations during the closure, but that's not a realistic solution for everyone. It's also not great benefit to make up for the inconvenince because I was already a black card member. I chose the Inner Harbor location specifically because I could walk there. There is no dedicated parking at this location. Many people who use this gym live in surrounding neighborhoods and don't drive. We rely on the convenience of being able to walk there. I ended up taking an Uber to another location and spent over $30 round trip, which was more than my monthly membership cost. I requested a freeze or partial refund because I had paid for a membership I couldn't reasonably use, but I was told refunds were not offered because members had access to other clubs. The phone number for the Inner Harbor location just rang with no way to leave a message or contact anyone directly while the gym was closed. I also submitted a refund inquiry through the website. About 10 days later, I received a voicemail from Michelle, who identified herself as a manager from the Inner Harbor location. She told me they don't offer partial refunds and to call back if I had any questions, but she didn't leave a direct number. When I called back the number that appeared on my phone, I reached the Mondawmin location. The staff there had no idea who Michelle was and told me my home gym was closed. I wanted to become a regular member here because of the convenient location, but this is unacceptable. I cancelled my membership and contacted my bank. Overall, it was a really disappointing experience. Terrible customer service.

It’s an ok place it’s kinda small they’re not a lot of smiths machines, and I can’t complain because it is downtown and there is a lot of students that go there after school, but other than that staff are really kind

I haven’t had any poor experiences with planet fitness until today 06/01/26 . This started initially due to the renovation. I asked what can I do about my membership as I will not be using any other planet fitness facilities. I was told to freeze my account online. This morning I didn’t see the option so I called the club to get help. The staff member answered the phone like it was his personal cell/home phone with a hello instead of his name and this is planet fitness. I asked is this planet fitness he says yes. I explain my issue and tell him o can’t pause my account I don’t see the option. He then tells me I’m going to have to come in the club . Mind you the club is closed until the 19th for renovations. So I say I was just in the club and told this was the way I could do it you guys need to help me. He hung up the phone in my face. I don’t appreciate the lack of professionalism he displayed nor having my time wasted when I was just in the club yesterday and could have been assisted right then.

I've been going to this PF location consistently for the past two years and it's definitely one of the better ones out there. It's pretty small compared to others, but it has all the necessary equipment to get a good workout in. It also doesn't get crowded enough to the point where getting a workout is impossible. My only real complaint is the amount of smith machines. With only three, you might have to wait around to hop on one, especially during peak afternoon hours. Overall, it's a great gym and it has helped me accomplish my fitness goals 😁

UPDATE 2-4-26 The hours are just not good anymore. I absolutely LOVE the gym and have brought a bit of people to join. But I recently noticed the hours of M-Thursday till 11pm Friday at 9pm and Saturday and Sunday until 7pm it doesn’t work for a lot of the people that I brought with me and most of the people I’ve spoken to at this location. I’m not sure if it’s just location or if anything could be done, however, the other patrons I’ve spoken to agree that Monday through Thursday 10pm, Friday and Saturday at 11 and Sunday 9pm just works better for those who come to the gym a lot, and use the facilities the most. I feel rushed on the weekends and the weekends are usually most people’s relaxation days but it doesn’t feel like it, I feel rushed and, before you ask why can’t I come in the morning early, It doesn’t work for my schedule as a mother of 4. 3 Which are in school. Hopefully this helps. Keynaud is the best employee here!!!! He is so helpful always welcoming. He accommodating. He is super efficient I see him owning his own Planet Fitness one day I see how all the other employees asking for something and he literally knows everything!
