I’m very impressed with ECA Wallingford. The equipment is new, and the gym is perfectly sized, not too cramped and not so massive that you get lost inside. The atmosphere is lively and cheerful, plus there’s FREE convenient parking. The basic membership is very affordable, though it doesn’t include classes. I highly recommend upgrading for the classes because the coaches are detail-oriented, motivating, and clearly running on high caffeine, especially Kris.

Great staff! They are really attentive and care about your progress, goals, and overall give you a comprehensive understanding of your needs and what will help you be successful in the gym. Lots of different types of people and bodies represented in the gym which makes it approachable and it’s not super expensive for all the benefits you are getting out of the gym!! Love it here :)

I tend to be a more private workout person and not so much a fan of crowded gyms. Joined after a roommate recommended it and have to say I’ve had a good first experience. The first workout was guided which helps get you acquainted with the space and the overall setup. The sales tactics to get ya joined up is a bit strong like any membership program, but it also had me working out the very next day so I can’t really complain. Thanks to Mitchell for the first shakedown.

5 stars because my experience has been good! Have recommended to many people. The good - Affordable, clean, and in a good location! - Dom at the front desk is great, and so are the rest of the staff. Haven’t had a bad experience with anyone there in the 4 years I’ve gone. - Plenty of equipment, and if something is broken, it usually is fixed within a week. - The folks that go there in the morning are friendly and have good gym etiquette. To improve - They’ve had problems with employee retention in the past, so I hope they are taking good enough care of their staff! - They have a points system that is kind of meh. They should let you exchange points for using the Champions room! Or to go to classes. Heck, the Champions Room is pretty empty for much of the day anyway. - When I joined, I was a little concerned how adept they were at being conscious of folks with a history of eating disorders. That was a while ago, but still worth being aware of!

After following this place via social media, I was excited to try it because it seemed inviting, community based, and not intimidating (which I find gyms usually to be). Maybe it was an off day, but unfortunately I had the opposite experience. Sharing below: - Walked in and the front desk person didn't say much other than push me an ipad to take a survey. - I had signed up for one of their classes and I had to guess where it was because they didn't share any information. - The class I had signed up for didn't actually happen because another class that got scheduled over it and all the instructor could tell us was that it wasn't happening and didn't offer much help after that. - The new class was really advanced and intense so I went to try working out at the gym. - Hopped on the treadmills but they all had pins on them so you couldn't just start walking. -Everything else was crowded so I left.
