Jason 2 weeks agoI had the opportunity to visit Olympic Athletic Club while staying in Seattle as a guest of the Ballard Hotel, and it exceeded my expectations. The facility is exceptionally clean, well-maintained, and equipped with everything you could need for a great workout. The equipment selection is excellent, with plenty of options for both strength training and cardio. What really stood out, though, was the people. Everyone I encountered—from the staff to the members—was welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The atmosphere made it easy to feel comfortable, even as a visitor. If you’re staying in the area or looking for a top-notch gym in Seattle, I highly recommend Olympic Athletic Club. Great equipment, spotless facilities, and fantastic people made for an outstanding experience. I can’t wait to visit again and only wish I had a gym this great near where I live. Thanks, Olympic Athletic Club!
Kendyl Pettit 3 weeks agoMy husband and I went here for over three years. If there was anywhere else to go that was in our neighborhood and had space to workout, I would’ve went there in a heart beat instead. We left close to two years ago and have been at three different gyms since because I wanted to make sure I wasn’t crazy before posting this. This is not a gym to workout, this is a gym to take pictures. The place was constantly dirty and under construction, typical cheap commercial gym equipment, and the most absurd rules that changed daily depending on who was working. As others have mentioned, heavy lifting or intense workouts aren’t just discouraged - they will stop you and ask you to leave or threaten you with punishments they magically whip up. I’d much prefer they put in actual platforms instead of another chandelier. The management and staff were rude and mean - I see that now after I feel beyond grateful that my current gyms front desk staff greet me and know me by name (I’ve been here 7 months). At the time, they did their best to convince my golden retriever husband and I that we were the problem. But I’m now in way better shape and feel way better when I’m at the gym, and there are no problems at all. An expensive lesson.
Claudia Wickham a month agoA luxurious gym experience. Courteous staff, beautiful facility. What a deal for a place this nice. Love the pool and steam room here. Amazing stocked locker rooms and great variation of gym equipment for all levels of fitness
Sy 4 months agoI hate to leave a bad review, but I just feel like this place boasts an aesthetic that gives a rich people vibe but doesn't actually offer the convenience of being a part of an expensive gym. I came in on a guest pass to try out the facility and it honestly was quite sub par. I'm from the UK, and have experienced a gym called Third Space which actually solves all of the problems this place seems to have. If I am to pay a high price for a nice gym, I expect it to have a frictionless experience so that I can focus on my health and wellness. When I came in, I found it strange that all the towels are at the front desk. It makes me feel as though I am being policed on how many towels I can take. That makes it hard to change towels when I'm taking a shower, then using the sauna steam room, then to take a shower again afterwards, all with the same towel. Why not have all the towels at the locker room at my disposal? And the size of the towels are laughable as well. I'm a size XS and 5"4' but they barely covered my bum. The sauna and steam room was the main reason I wanted to join this gym, but it was barely hot and I didn't break a sweat. It was frustrating and I left soon after. I showed up to a class I signed up for only to find that the instructor didn't show, and didn't notify anyone beforehand. We all found out 15 mins of waiting in class. There aren't any toiletries such as cotton buds or tampons/pads. The hair tools they have is just a regular hair dryer, no high quality appliances or straighteners. There are no seats to sit at the counters with mirrors, you must stand the whole time getting ready. But again I'm still comparing it to a similarly priced gym in London which is in a different country. The thing is, I'm expecting this gym to make it easier to be there based on the price and location. I expect it to have recovery rooms such as cryotherapy, red light therapy, and cold waterfall shower. There a lot of tech workers in the area, spending quite a bit to be a part of this membership and I was shocked to see how little it offers. I just assume what people are paying for is the proximity to being in Ballard, and that it looks pretty bougie. I was really disappointed because I wanted to really like this place and wanted it to be my third space. I will say it is a beautiful space and has good equipment.
Olivia Joy 3 weeks agohorribly expensive and intense sales tactics. the earth will orbit the sun 5000 times before they reveal their price online, so i’ll save you some time so you don’t have to make a trip on $6.50 gas to only be treated like a decrepit peasant by someone who makes minimum wage. it’s around $150 a month with about a $200 enrollment fee, which is a sweet deal according to the salesman. i went in for just a tour and when i denied the ridiculous price the salesperson was immediately rude and dismissive. stuck up atmosphere. wouldn’t recommend
