I don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience warrants it. My friend is an active member at the Tysons location of Equinox, and we stopped by the Anthem location while attending an event nearby. She simply asked if she could use the restroom one time. If the answer is no due to policy, that’s fine—but the way it was handled was completely unacceptable. The staff, particularly Tim, was unnecessarily rude and dismissive. There was no attempt to explain the policy respectfully, and when we asked whether she could temporarily upgrade her membership or do anything to accommodate the situation, we were brushed off and told to leave in a very unprofessional manner. The interaction escalated to the point where we felt disrespected and unwelcome. For a brand that positions itself as “luxury,” this level of customer service is shocking. Basic courtesy and respect shouldn’t depend on which location your membership is tied to. The least they could do is ensure their staff treats people with professionalism. I had previously considered joining after positive experiences at other locations, but this completely changed my perspective. I won’t be returning and would caution others to think twice

As my home gym for the past two years, I've lost the natural new member view and still find this place as a great 'home gym.' As a frequent traveler, I have a higher rate than most, but find the whole EQX chain a good value for upscale gyms. Largely consistent standards which is hard enough to achieve with a few locations let along a hundred in varying time zones. Locally, the staff and instructors are the shining star along with constantly clean and well kept interior. This location tends to seem smaller than most larger gyms, but has nearly all of the equipment you need for even the most advanced work outs. I've seen it get busier as membership sales improve, but it is nowhere near as bad as discount or other 'premium' gyms in the DC area.

Called to understand the going rate for a membership and someone on the phone refused to give me a ballpark number, stating 'the membership team would need to contact me.' I don't want to talk to the membership team, I didn't have a discount and just wanted a basic number - it's not that deep and shouldn't be so difficult. I can't believe how ridiculous they were on the phone!

Definitely a waste of money. Overcrowded and rude staff. I am going to cancel my membership!

Showers sometimes smell moldy with black colored mold buildup on the tile grout. Towels are sometimes very worn out with threads showing. Gym equipment sometimes smell sweaty. I suggest steam cleaning of all equipment asap. Gym between 5pm-7pm is too crowded to the point that I have to wait for equipment. Steam room also sometimes smells dirty or moldy. Health department needs to investigate the hygiene of this facility to make sure it is safe to be open.
