I don’t like to give bad reviews but sometimes I just can’t help it. I have been going to this gym since they opened. They’re lucky they’re the most convenient option for a lot of people around here because otherwise they’d have been out of business ages ago. I have some gripes but the most offensive one is how they keep saying they’re not allowed to adjust the temperature in the locker rooms so it’s always 85+ degrees in there. It’s a terrarium basically. They say it’s bc the sauna is on but other locations have sauna as too and their locker rooms are never this hot. I’ve heard from several members about this issue. I dread going there everyday because I feel sick being in such a hot environment even after taking a cold shower after workout. One is these days someone is going to faint and that’ll be fun I’m sure. The gym is in the basement so it’s not as well ventilated. It’s not well ventilated. Also while there’s a sign that says no filming in locker rooms, social media influencers still do. There are a lot of them at this location. They have 6 platforms tho so I’ll give them that. The plates are nice. But there are some machines that no one uses like the deadlift machines that puts your body in a weird mechanic. The kettlebell rack is installed inside a cable machine so you have to deal with kettlebell traffic when using it. It’s such a weird setup. Lots of leg machines and not enough upper body machines. Not enough traditional grip bars. I’m considering dropping my membership cuz this ain’t it.

Not only is the Gold’s Gym chain my favorite out of all the ones I’ve tried in the DMV area, the service you receive from its staff is unmatched. Tyrone, the General Manager here at NoMa Center, is so helpful and friendly. He answered all of the questions I had, and made time to call me back during his busy work day. I truly felt valued as a member given the patience and diligence he displayed in assisting me. He has a great team as well — I really can’t recommend this gym enough!

Great gym with everything you need. New equipment that challenges your fitness to the next level. Staff is friendly, quick and responsive. I'm a fan of the size of the space as it efficient in organizing my workout plan. The lighting is impeccable. I'd definitely recommend for you try this gym out.

So far pretty good experience. New and clean. Equipment is decent. Ample squat racks Could use more cables Sauna has not been working since I first started coming 3 weeks ago. I haven’t been during peak hours right after work, so I’m not sure how crowded it gets. It’s a fairly small space

I visited Gold's Gym on Monday 3/30 hoping to sign up for a new membership. The man at the front desk was great! He was kind, welcoming, and very personable. Since I was new, he connected me with a salesperson for further assistance. Unfortunately, the salesperson, who I believe was Jose, was extremely rude from the start. When the front desk called him over, he acted as if I was interrupting him while he was on his phone. During check in, he asked for proof of residency because my driver’s license still shows a Virginia address, even though I now live in DC. I understand verifying residency, but there was no signal in the gym and the Wi-Fi would not connect, so I had to go outside to pull up my electric bill. Even after I returned with the bill displayed, he continued questioning it because he could not clearly see my name on the page with my address. Throughout the process, it felt like he assumed I was only there for the free session and did not want to assist me. After everything was finalized, he did not offer a tour. I had to ask where the locker room was, and he pointed in the direction. When I finished my workout and went to speak with him again, he seemed annoyed that I interrupted him from being on his phone. I asked about the five free sessions promoted online and he told me no. Despite the experience, I was still interested in a membership and asked a few questions. He seemed surprised and pushed me to sign up on the spot. When I said I preferred to complete it online, he asked me to put his name down to “help him out.” This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have had. After a long day, this is not the kind of treatment I would expect when considering joining a gym.
