Stephanie66hi 3 months agoThe biggest downside is the hours. It doesn’t open early enough for me to go before work, and because of my work schedule I often cannot go in the evenings. I wish this was 24/7 or opened earlier in the AM. It really makes me miss Pearl City 24 hr fitness. The plus side is the view on some of the machines are beautiful. It’s clean, and the staff is also friendly. Despite the limited space, I feel like the gym has a decent amount of equipment.
Michael S 2 months agoI’ve been coming to this Hawaii Kai location for a decade, but it has gone downhill fast. It’s ridiculous that they still call themselves 24 Hour Fitness when they’re only open for 18. It was a "temporary" Covid change that clearly just became a permanent way for corporate to save money on our dime, under the guise of ‘cleaning’. And yet it became clear that cleanliness and equipment maintenance has become deprioritized. Today, the AC has been broken for weeks. It’s a sweatbox. we’re told a "part" is coming next week, but we all know that corporate is being too cheap to pay for a real fix. It’s frustrating because the brand was just bought out by LongRange Capital and the original founder, Mark Mastrov. You’d think with "new ownership" they’d actually invest in the facilities, but it feels like worsening private equity greed. They’re happy to take our membership dues but won't even keep the building at a livable temperature or maintain the equipment. It’s sad to see this is the direction that the gym is going and it’s the first time I’ve genuinely considered cancelling my membership after all these years.
Turd Fergusson 4 months agoPositives - Front desk employees are nice and always greet you - Free parking - Yearly price for me was only around 20 dollars which is a steal. Negative - Not 24 hours - Parking is incredibly tight (but thats par for the course everywhere in Hawaii) - Gym space is super cramped. Only 2 bench presses, 1 smith machine, 2 dumbbell racks, and 3 squat racks - Gym also feels really dirty and I dont think the staff clean equipment after hours. Ive never once been to a gym where one week ive gotten covid and two weeks later i get bronchitis - Machines are worn down and half of them could probably give you tetanus. - Everyone here has horrible gym etiquette. Nobody reracks their weights, reset the stacks on the machines, or cleans anything. People also hog equipment during peak hours for way too long. Please get a new training routine if you're doing lat pulldowns for half an hour. - Lots of roid ragers here. I got into an incident with one who was upset that they couldnt use the squat rack they wanted when there was an equivalent one that was open. - Weird choice in music? One moment Im listening to emo rock, then dubstep, then its "WHAT THE HELLY? WHAT THE HELL??" - Clocks on tv are way off. I have no idea what time they're showing but it's not hst - Staff are non-existent at night. Paper towels and spray bottles are usually going to be empty then
EV Cowboy a year agoWorking out at the 24-hour gym in Hawaii Kai is more than just fitness—it’s a full mind-body experience. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a team of staff members who are not only incredibly friendly but truly great at what they do. Whether you’re new to the gym or a seasoned athlete, they make you feel welcomed, supported, and motivated. What sets this gym apart is the unbeatable location. Overlooking the serene waters of the Hawaii Kai marina, the view alone is enough to calm your mind and uplift your spirit. There’s something deeply refreshing about lifting weights or stretching while watching the sunrise or feeling the breeze through the open windows. It’s a workout and a mini-vacation in one. The gym is clean, well-equipped, and open 5am to 11pm perfect for early birds, night owls, and everyone in between. No matter what time you go, the positive energy is always there. If you’re looking for a place where your fitness goals are supported and your soul finds peace with every rep, this is the place. Aloha vibes, professional staff, and breathtaking views—what more could you ask for?
