As someone who has been around gyms since the 1980s, starting with my first visit to Lou Ferrigno’s gym in Brooklyn, I’ve learned that every gym tells a story long before you ever touch a weight. I had the honor of attending the ribbon cutting for Los Campeones Gym as an ambassador for the Round Rock Chamber, and what stood out immediately was the intentionality behind the experience. Yes, when you first walk in, you notice the extensive supplements, gear, and refrigerated products. But once you move beyond that, you realize this place was built for people who are serious about improving themselves. What impressed me most was the balance. This isn’t a gym trying to be a social media backdrop filled with people filming selfie videos between sets. It’s a gym designed for everyone from someone walking in for their very first workout to experienced power lifters chasing personal records. The equipment selection reflects that philosophy. Sophisticated machines. An enormous range of free weights. Space to move. Space to focus. Space to work. Several friends and fellow ambassadors got their workouts in during the event, and every one of them mentioned the same things afterward: the welcoming staff, the quality of the equipment, and the atmosphere. Great gyms understand that people aren’t just buying access to machines. They’re buying belief in a better version of themselves. Los Campeones Gym clearly understands that and it is evident in the success of their other locations. I am sure this location will be just as successful.

This specific gym and location was what introduced me to how incredible a gym really can be, so for that alone I think it’ll always have a special place in my heart. I don’t get to come here regularly since I don’t live close enough, but every now and then I’ll treat myself and stop by for a day pass and try to support what I’m pretty sure is a local business. Coming back here was just as fun as the first time. The layout is different compared to the Round Rock location, which is more of a big square warehouse. Here, the way everything is arranged and split across levels creates a different flow. Whoever curated it did a good job making the most of the space and fitting everything together. This is a gym that actually cares, and I cannot state that enough. A clear example is the pendulum squat where they added grip tape so your feet really stay locked in. As expected you’ve got an amazing range of equipment and brands along with all the beautiful metal meathead plates you could ever want. This place is truly as mentioned above a treat😊 I really don’t have any major complaints, but because I’m a human I still have some minor ones. From what I saw, a lot of the equipment is plate loaded. Personally, I don’t mind that at all and actually prefer it, but I noticed it can make things a little harder when trying to introduce newer lifters to the gym. For example, I was with my mother and I try to explain that she doesn’t have to take as long as I do but, constantly unloading and reloading plates can slow things down compared to just moving a pin on a selectorized machine. Again, very specific scenario and definitely not a dealbreaker, but worth mentioning. My other tiny complaint is the music volume. I’m sure I’m just sensitive to it, but it was a little louder than I’d personally prefer. I don’t necessarily need “TO THE SWEAT DRIPPING DOWN MY BALLS” blasted directly into my ears while training. Overall though, this place is easily a 5 out of 5. Honestly, I wish this brand would take over the Westlake Gold’s location because that area has the money to support something truly incredible instead of a gym that feels stuck in the early 2000s. Regardless, this place is a 10 out of 10 in my book and I cannot recommend it enough… absolutely recommend it! (I think do prefer the RR location a little more)

Los Campeones is known for serious equipment, a focused training environment, and a real lifting culture. From the moment you walk in, it’s clear this gym is built for people who actually train. The layout is spacious, the equipment selection is stacked and nothing feels overcrowded or gimmicky. Unless you come on peak hours, I see why they had to open a new location in Round Rock, they are amazing. What really stands out is the balance between intensity and community. The atmosphere pushes you to work hard, but it’s still welcoming. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly care about maintaining the quality and culture of the gym. If you’re tired of commercial gyms that prioritize aesthetics over performance, this place is a breath of fresh air. Whether you’re bodybuilding, powerlifting, or just want a no-BS environment to get stronger, Los Campeones sets the standard. Highly recommend for anyone serious about training.

I’ve been coming here for about a month and a half and wanted to wait before leaving an honest review. After getting a good feel for the place, I can confidently say this is my favorite gym I’ve been to in a long time. I’ve tried the big box gyms, they tend to feel overdone and a bit impersonal. I’ve also tried smaller independent gyms, they’re genuine but often lack the equipment or space. This gym strikes the perfect balance. The staff is genuine, the equipment is solid, and there’s always enough variety to get a great workout in. The regulars and overall community make it even better. You can tell people actually care here. It’s got the right mix of quality, atmosphere, and authenticity, easily the best gym in town.
