I’ve been going to this gym for a few years and recently saved enough points on the TruFit app to redeem a body scan. When I called to schedule the appointment, the receptionist transferred me to a personal trainer named Bets. I clearly explained that I wanted to redeem my points for the body scan through the app. Instead of helping me schedule it, Bets repeatedly tried to push me into signing up for one-on-one personal training. When I explained that I was just trying to redeem the body scan I earned through the app, he acted like he didn’t know what I was talking about and laughed while insisting that I should just come in for a training session instead. The tone of the conversation came across as very dismissive and unprofessional, which made the whole interaction uncomfortable. I reluctantly agreed to a one-on-one session during the call, but after thinking about the interaction more, I decided I wasn’t comfortable going and cancelled the appointment. I later went into the gym to cancel my membership, but I was persuaded to stay and instead switch my home gym location. I filled out the form to make the change, but it appears it was never actually entered into the system. Overall, I’m very disappointed with the experience. After being a member for several years, I expected better customer service and clearer communication. Unfortunately, my interaction with Bets felt arrogant and dismissive, and the follow-through on the membership change was also mishandled.

I had a very disappointing experience at this TrueFit location. I attempted to cancel my membership in person and was told by a front desk employee that my account had been canceled. Later, I found out that it was not actually canceled and that cancellation requires sending an email and then waiting 30 days. This was never communicated to me. Whether the employee was misinformed or poorly trained, the result was the same — I was given incorrect information. The cancellation process is unnecessarily complicated. You cannot cancel over the phone, and staff at the location are not authorized to cancel accounts. That creates confusion and makes the process harder than it needs to be. Clear communication and proper employee training would prevent situations like this. On top of that, the 30-day notice requirement feels excessive. If someone wants to cancel a service, it should be straightforward. Instead, you’re required to pay for an additional month regardless of whether you plan to use the facility. That policy feels unfair and leaves a bad impression. Customer service was not particularly helpful when I reached out for clarification, and getting clear answers was difficult. Overall, between the poor communication, the restrictive cancellation policy, and the lack of accountability, I cannot recommend this location. Future customers should carefully review the cancellation terms before signing up.

DIRTY- this post if after my original post two weeks ago and after acknowledged by management per their response below but obviously nothing was changed. Place has gotten even dirtier. Additional photos added to post. If management reads this and thanks for my feedback, when can we expect improvement? Great gym. Big, spacious, most employees are nice. The classes are actually a lot of fun! Especially with Michael Green. But they slack 100% in cleanness. Everyone is sitting on the phone at the from desk while there is toilet paper everyone on the floor, empty paper towel dispensers for days- so no one is wiping anything down, everything is unorganized/never put back. Pretty dirty.

2320 Frontage Rd #77/83, Brownsville, TX 78521 (Sunrise Mall) This Gym Is a Complete Joke — Dirty, Disorganized, and Clearly No One Cares Let me save you the time and money: don’t bother joining this trainwreck of a gym. Walk in and you’re instantly hit with chaos — weights scattered everywhere, machines half-working (if that), and absolutely zero signs to let you know what’s broken. It’s like management just gave up. You’ll spend more time searching for equipment or trying to figure out what works than actually working out. And the staff? Useless. Completely disconnected from reality. They’re either hiding behind the desk or glued to their phones like it’s a damn social media convention. They’re not cleaning, not organizing, not checking on anything — basically just standing around while the place falls apart around them. If these employees are supposed to represent the gym, then the message is clear: this place is run on the cheapest labor possible with no standards, no training, and no accountability. You pay them minimum wage, give them zero leadership, and then act surprised when the gym looks like a landfill? That’s on you, management. The locker rooms? Gross. The gym floor? Hazardous. The vibe? Straight-up depressing. This isn’t a gym — it’s a mess with equipment in it. Unless ownership makes some serious changes — pay staff better, train them, enforce rules, CLEAN the damn place — this place will keep going downhill. Fast. Embarrassing facility. Embarrassing leadership. Don’t waste your time.
