Hayden 3 months agoThe equipment needs replacing: seats are worn and cable attachments are broken/missing. Gym has a good environment but the gym is filthy, as well as the bathroom. I would almost say shut down early or even a full day and do a deep clean. In the guys bath room, it smells, floors are dirty, urinals are disgusting and trash is always overflowing. The gym itself there’s dirt around every machine. It’s embarrassing to bring a guest. Is something going to be done about this??
Alli A 4 months agoLove crunch and all they have to offer. Many many machines and free weights so I rarely have to wait for anything. I often get to superset without any issues. I Looooooove the sauna so much! Best way to start day. However, NO ONE is aware of sauna etiquette. Nearly every single morning, I will sit there for 15 minutes and as soon as I break a sweat, someone comes in/out and swings the door wide open allowing ALL of the hot air to escape. This happens every free minutes so it’s impossible to get a good sweat. People talking on phones and not making room for others is also frustrating. Would be AMAZING if you could post a sign with some common sauna etiquette tips for those not in the know. Another frustrating experience at this gym is the paper towel/spray is constantly out, making it difficult to wipe down machines. There have also been a few occasions where I would want to buy a shake and mop one would be at the counter for several minutes so I would just end up leaving without. If these issues were to be fixed, I would give 5 stars. Build a gun nest chics beach please :) Thanks a million!
Holly Hamby a month agoMy husband collapsed from dehydration during one of Shawna's classes last week, and I can't even begin to express my gratitude for the team at Chimney Hill for all they did to help him. Trainers Shawna and Dwayne immediately took action in checking on him, fanning him down, as well as the personal training director Christina, getting him glucose tablets and water. But the one who was there from the beginning until the very end of this experience was Assistant Manager Joe. He truly went above and beyond with his attentiveness, asking medically necessary questions, constantly reassuring him not to be embarrassed, gave tips to help avoid these issues in the future, helped him get up, supported him walking up to the front and even assisted getting him in the car. He even called me after an hour or so to check on him!! A true hero to us, Hero Joe!! Thank you all, truly!!
Jerree Ramos 4 months agoI’ve had a great experience at the Chimney Hill location. The facility is consistently clean, and even during busier hours, there is plenty of equipment available so you aren't stuck waiting around to finish a set. The group classes are a major highlight for me—the instructors are awesome and incredibly motivating, which really helps you push through a tough workout. What really sets this gym apart, though, is the overall staff. Huge kudos to Joe; his energy is great, and he makes a point to greet you both when you arrive and when you head out. It’s a welcoming, high-energy environment that makes it easy to stay consistent.
John Tran a year agoNo water fountains in the gym, so people just line up in the bathroom to use the sink tap water for their bottles, machines always broken and out of service, paper towel dispensers are always empty, water fountain filters are already in the red for some reason (which I’d assume that means they’re dirty), no soap dispenser and the one that does exist of the two rarely has soap, and the trash cans in the bathroom are always pouring out from how filled they are, I mean just come on. How long does it take to walk to the storage cabinet and pull out a roll of paper towels and restock the machine? 2 minutes? Max? Take the trash out? 4 minutes max? At this point just let the customers do it themselves. Some things like the water fountain or the machines being broken is, okay, things happen sure, but like really for everything else? Another thing, and that I’ve also seen on every negative review (so I’m not alone clearly) is that they will tell you they’ll charge you one thing, or cancel payment of something, and then keep charging you or wrongfully charging you, and when you ask for a refund even from a manager, they say they cannot provide it and that corporate has changed their powers to issue refunds. I’ve come to speak to somebody FOUR times just to get my billing changed to their $9.99 plan, and everytime they either tell me there’s nothing they can do without a manager and come back another time, or when the manager is there, they’ll help me, tell me I’m all good to go and the plan is now $9.99, and then a month goes by and I’m being charged $11.99 OR $15.99 which happened this week. I enjoy this gym and the community and the modern equipment, but the gym either seems to be highly understaffed, (with all the missing paper towels and filled trashcans) or they just maybe do not give that much care. From what I’ve read, I expect a slightly snarky joke from whoever responds to this review, if anyone responds at all, and hey, whoever is responding with the snarky comment, the pictures are all right there for everyone to see. The pictures don’t lie. I’ve come here basically since the gym opened and Blink Fitness went out of business, and the gym has been fantastic, but up until recently, it’s like nobody cares anymore or the gym is just highly understaffed.
