I wholeheartedly recommend Fitness SF to anyone looking for a gym in this area. It’s 2.5x cheaper, has considerably more equipment, relaxing massage chairs, and the staff is actually helpful. It also has showers and towels. Unlike Equinox, Fitness SF has a very nice location that is open on the weekends next to the Salesforce Tower. That location is also probably something like 10x bigger than Equinox. Otherwise - Bay Club is hands down a better gym in the same price category. There are also YMCA, Planet Fitness, Crunch - you name it. I’ve been meaning to check out Equinox and I’m honestly not impressed. It’s not the Apple of gyms, it’s more like Juicero. This Equinox is overcrowded, the equipment is lacking (no decline bench, no Bevi-like water stations, not enough free weights - you often need to walk around the gym to search for 45lbs plates, and there’s often no stable internet connection, so meetings are tough). It might be okay for people who want to say that they go to Equinox, but just simply not the right place for anyone who’s even somewhat serious about lifting. Reminds me of an apartment/hotel gym - it’s better than nothing and is probably acceptable if you’re just starting out your fitness journey (but then there’s Planet Fitness at $10/mo next door 🤔) I’ve had to communicate with the GM Lena about an issue that I had and she was quite literally the opposite of helpful. She took my question, turned it around, and made my situation worse. It might quite literally be the worst customer service I have ever experienced at any gym. This must take a special type of talent to achieve this. Sales only get you so far - but at some point you actually have to deliver. This gym is excellent at marketing and sales. Delivering customer experience - not so much.

This gym is BEAUTIFUL. With how gorgeous this place is they really should be open on weekends. I visited this location from NYC and man all this space is a dream. They have so much equipment! Front desk was super helpful, place was spotless, locker room was DOPE.

Set inside the former Pacific Coast Stock Exchange, Equinox Pine St leans into its financial heritage with lofty original ceilings and the only locker room pool you may ever find inside a bank vault. The finishes look more traditional than modern and it can feel dark inside at night, but there is an Earthbar.

really crowded during the evening. cramped in the locker room. needing to side step around people and pillar. non functioning bike that takes weeks for external staff to look into. 2nd bike occupied. i've left pine to go to a different location 2x this past month. best i stop visiting pine altogether and check in elsewhere

Quite possibly one of the most beautiful gyms you’ll ever see! Pretty open floor plan though there are some interesting choices in where the equipment is placed. Would definitely recommend visiting if during off hours as the setup can get cramped during peaks. Coolest part about the gym is that the locker rooms are in the actual vault
