Heavii Hitter a month agoTHIS PLACE IS AN ABSOLUTE DUMP!!! I honestly don’t understand how this location can call itself a Signature Club and charge a premium membership fee while offering facilities that feel neglected and outdated. The first thing that hits you when you walk in is the smell, feels like I’m walking into a landfill. The gym constantly has an unpleasant odor that makes it feel like basic cleaning and maintenance are not being prioritized. Unfortunately, it only gets worse in the locker rooms. The showers are absolutely disgusting—dirty, moldy, poorly maintained, and far below what anyone should expect from a gym that charges extra for a “premium” experience. Surprised they haven’t been hit with a health code violation. The equipment and facilities look tired and outdated, with many areas feeling like they haven’t been renovated or refreshed in years. For the price being charged, members should expect a clean, modern, well-maintained fitness center, not something that feels like it’s been running on the bare minimum. To make matters worse, the sales experience was extremely disappointing. Instead of focusing on member needs, the salesperson repeatedly pushed and attempted to upsell me into an additional membership package that I neither wanted nor needed. The entire interaction felt misleading and left me questioning whether customer service or sales quotas were the priority. Paying Signature Club prices for what is essentially a bottom-of-the-barrel gym experience is unacceptable. Between the odor, filthy showers, outdated facilities, and aggressive sales tactics, this location completely fails to justify its premium membership cost. I would not recommend this gym to anyone looking for a quality fitness experience.
Brian k 2 months agoVery disappointed with this LA Fitness location in Brickell. The gym has seriously gone downhill and lately the experience has been horrible. The bathrooms are constantly dirty, the locker rooms smell bad, and the overall cleanliness is unacceptable for a gym people pay premium prices for. I’ve even seen cockroaches inside the facility, which is disgusting and completely unhygienic. On top of that, the towel machine has been broken for more than 10 days, yet members are still being charged the monthly fitness/towel fee for a service that is not even available. No towels for over 10 days is ridiculous. The sauna has also been out of service, adding even more frustration for members paying full price. Machines are often dirty, maintenance is poor, and management clearly isn’t keeping up with the facility anymore. For a gym located in Brickell, this level of neglect is unacceptable. Definitely not the quality expected from LA Fitness.
Daniel Schvester 3 months agoWent there for a 3 day trial as I am out of town looking at moving to Miami. This location does not honour the 3 day trial unless you have a Florida ID. The manager was kind enough to let me use the facility for one day so that was nice. The rest of the staff also seemed nice. The actual gym is rough though. The equipment is rusty, the other members rarely wipe down the equipment after using it and overall the place feels a bit out of date and dirty. Also, another major red flag for me was seeing another member with his dog in the gym. The dog did not have any markings indicating it was a guide dog. For me this is unsanitary and even a bit dangerous for people at the gym and the dog itself. A small dog shouldn’t be leashed up around heavy equipment. To recap, staff is nice, cleanliness is questionable and this location does not honour their online trial policy.
Toddy Rich a month agoLA Fitness Brickell is very poorly managed. As a member of two years, I've observed a lack of rules and enforcement. Notably, staff allow patrons to play loud music on speakerphones and engage in loud phone conversations, often using equipment as a seating area. I've reported instances of people using profanity loudly on phones in the workout area, only to be ignored or dismissed by management. Equipment maintenance is also subpar - the Stairmaster in the attached photo has been out of commission for 7 weeks without repair. They finally unplugged it and put a sign on it when the exposed broken electrical switch gave me a shock. If you're looking for a lackluster, this LA Fitness is your spot. Also, be prepared for managers who may not speak English - Spanish is the primary language. Update, the Stairmaster that broke down in early March is still out of service as we near the 90 day point. I guess they have no intention to fix the machine. Especially frustrating when I'm forced to wait for an opening.
Dr. Kyle Turman 6 months agoAlright cousins, Doc checked out LA Fitness Brickell. I’ll always start with something positive. If you’re committed to working out, you already know that you can make that happen just about anywhere. Specific to this location, the basics are present and functional. That said, for a gym carrying “Signature” energy and pricing, the space feels a whole lotta bit behind for “signature” status. A few unsolicited but gym cultured observations. The carpet could probably be retired, it’s giving early 2000s and it smells. Additional wipe down stations would be appreciated, mostly for peace of mind because I would prefer not to play a guessing game with surface germs like herpes simplex 1, 2, 3. Equipment etiquette among members is inconsistent, which is fine if that’s the culture, but that usually means staff should help bridge the gap by re racking and resetting more often. Bathrooms were stable overall, though one stall had clearly seen some things (smearing). Also, adding more clips for the old school, unbalanced bench setups would be a smart safety move so plates don’t slide off mid rep. Parking is not the most convenient, but that comes with inner city gym territory, so no major shock there. In fairness, this could have just been an off stretch, even though I’ve been several days now. Overall, it’s a workout space with good bones, just not quite a “Signature” experience. Advice for new visitors. Bring your own wipes, manage expectations, and know that while it may not wow you, the workout will still get done. Doc
