Karen L. 5 months agoI have always loved FFC. The staff is welcoming and hardworking, especially at the south loop location. FFC is one of the cleanest, friendliest gyms in the city. The people who work out there are considerate and exude positive energy. Every FFC I've been to has had a GM with the warm demeanor to match, and they're usually available during business hours. Emailing them gets a response within a couple days. But not at south loop. I agree with other reviewers about the GM. The hostility is confusing. Perhaps she's a nice person and I (and the other reviewers) ran into her when she was having a bad day. But management also doesn't seem to communicate or respond to emails, and leaving messages with the front desk to get a call back does nothing. South loop FFC could be much better.
Jeanne K 3 months agoI’ve been a member of FFC on and off since 2008 and rejoined in 2024 after trying boutique fitness gyms. I rejoined again because I was tired of paying for separate memberships and wanted one gym with Pilates, yoga, and strength training, and felt FFC’s class schedule worked work mine. The South Loop location stands out. It’s rarely overcrowded, has a great turf space, and is exceptionally clean. The cleaning staff goes above and beyond to keep everything organized, including restacking weights throughout the day. It’s easily the cleanest gym I’ve been to. Ramie, the manager, is warm and welcoming and accessible - and the group fitness instructors are exceptional. Classes are slightly shorter than boutique studios but just as effective. The community is diverse and friendly, and you start to recognize familiar faces. They also host community events like salsa classes (some free and some paid). It’s a nice touch and shows they’re actively engaging members. The membership isn’t cheap, but in line for gyms of this caliber. When I first joined in 2008, I was paying around $50/month - uh different era. I do feel the the quality, cleanliness, and overall experience make it worth it. The reality is - my health has improved significantly since coming back. I feel very comfortable here as a middle-aged, non-athlete. You won’t feel intimidated here or fear you won’t fit in. This helps getting to the gym.
Joce 5 months agoI’ve seen a decline in the hospitality at this location. The previous management was welcoming and friendly. The moment I signed up for membership I’ve felt hostility from Ramie. Other members are greeted and I’m completely ignored as I’m entering the gym. The front desk and housekeeping are truly amazing. They are the true backbones of this facility and under appreciated. For this reason, I am not interested in continuing my membership. If am going to invest into a luxury gym membership, I expect the hospitality to be top tier especially from the GM. 11/29/2025 As I’m walking and talking with a gym partner, Ramie comes out of her office in full view of me purposely almost bumping into me and instead of apologizing just tells me to have a great day. Given the direction that she was coming from, she had full view of me . This felt very intentional and aggressive. I go to the front desk to let her know that that interaction was very rude and it made me uncomfortable She immediately says that I’ve already said I’ve taken many things personal and directs me to go talk to Sharon ( who seemed to not care). my main issue with this interaction is that I am not entering an establishment to be aggressive towards one to intimidate someone and I expect the same thing. By neither Ramie or sharron was I apologized too. I was just told to have a great day so be careful if you write a negative review or give feedback about this manager as she will be hostile
Kash 2 years agoBeen loving my membership so far! Stephanie helped me out and introduced me to the space. It felt right joining this gym after touring some other gyms in the area. It's clean, staff is friendly AND helpful, and I feel safe and comfortable in this space. I also like the South loop location vibes more than the West Loop FFC.
Nick Simoncelli 5 months agoIt’s 7:28am with 8 people standing outside in the cold to locked doors when the gym opens at 7… Not a single staff member was present. Update following owner response: exterior door protocols have nothing to do with the fact there was no staff present during open hours on a busy weekend.
