Hamid Bashir 6 months agoMy sincere advice to the person who decides how to reposition the machines every few weeks is to start working out at the gym himself/ herself first. Then you will understand that facing the mirror while working out helps with form and correct posture. There was really no need to turn these machines around and back them up against the wall mirror. Also, when you arrange machines according to body parts, it is helpful. Push machines/ pull machines/ leg machines can be grouped together for a smoother workout for your patrons. Randomly putting them all over is unwise. And please stop raising your dues every SINGLE year. Or inform the new members with full disclosure that this will happen. So they know what they are getting into and don’t feel shafted later. A+++ to the guy who wears a bandana and cleans the Men’s locker in the afternoon. You are doing a fantastic job, hope your managers recognize you. Thank you!
Mariana Nikolopoulou 2 months agoThis is our new gym. It has advantages and disadvantages. Advantages: ~It's got a ton of equipment, so you don't have to worry about doing alternative exercises. ~A ton of dumpbells. Never seen more sets of dumpbells at a gym. I don't think there's ever been a weight set I couldn't find. ~It's also visibly clean (except for some towels people like to leave everywhere). ~The pool is nice and I like that you can reserve it. ~Rooftop pool in the summer Disadvantages: ~Bad hours (for after work gym goers). They technically close at 11 most of the time which doesn't seem bad. If you go to the gym after 5 PM though, you actually can't go until 8 because it's super packed before that. 5-7.30 are the WORST times. It's so busy that I have to wait for machines for 20+ minutes (especially because people chat right next to each other) and their app will say 5% capacity, so you can't gauge how busy it is. So really, you get 3 hrs before closing and have to time your day. ~By the way, when we registered, we asked the manager who was giving us a tour if it's really busy at around 6 and she said "weirdly our busy time is at 4". I can't imagine how busy 4 is if it's busier than 6 but maybe start saying 6 is busy. ~It's a weird layout. Sometimes you have to walk quite far to get to a machine and there's three different sections that have weight lifting machines. If I had to use the machines that aren't in the main large area, I'd have to think of where they'd be. ~It's a very long gym but the only bathrooms are in the locker rooms and you have to walk through all of the lockers first. This isn't very convenient. There's technically one more set in the pool area but the door is locked from the gym area so you can only access it if you're swimming.
A a month agoI unfortunately have to give the gym a 3 star review. I’ve been a member since January. There isn’t adequate amount of equipment for the amount of members; 1 leg press, 1 smith machine, 1 decline press….. and members think they can sit at a machine for 30+ minutes knowing this. Also, cancellation fee is silly. I am moving. I found out over the weekend. And I told the gym on the 18th…first thing in the morning. Since I missed the 15th, I have to pay for the whole next month. Just absolute nonsense. Better service and equipment at the planet fitness I go to across the country. Read all reviews before jointing this gym, which I didn’t do. They make money on people not understanding their cancellation “terms”. I cancelled on the 18th. Granted, they request 15th. And they charged me for the WHOLE NEXT MONTH. Absolutely ludicrous. $150 down the drain. Terrible company and gym.
Divyanshi Agarwal a month agoI have a membership with FFC (which I am cancelling after this very rude experience) and I’ve signed my brother formally into the gym as a guest at West Loop multiple times before, including 2 times in the past 2 weeks. He is in their system with a phone number and profile picture. Today, they said he cannot enter since he is 16. We had never before been told that it was an 18+ policy. I asked them why there is inconsistent service and they couldn’t give me a proper answer. They just kept saying “I’m not calling you a liar” and spoke in a very condescending tone. They could’ve checked their system and the cameras honestly. The conversation was absolutely unnecessarily rude and they called him out in front of people. First they made it seem like it would be okay today due to the inconsistency on the staff’s part and then they called him out in front of everyone in the lobby and acted like we were being a problem. His phone number and his picture is in the system as well. I get if the policies are 18+ but why were we not told the first time? Why did they happily let us go inside multiple times instead of telling us what the policy is? One staff member even said that they couldn’t give my brother a membership due to his age but he could be a guest. I did not expect such poor communication in this establishment and I will be discontinuing my membership effective immediately. I just want an answer as to the inconsistent service and would urge them to have a conversation with their employees to make sure everyone is on the same page. I don’t expect people to be happy with such inconsistent communication. I understand that rules are important but consistency should be a priority. Miscommunication can be solved in a respectful manner, and this was far from it. My brother was actually looking forward to going to the gym on his birthday as well (in 2 days) but we will obviously be finding another place that actually values consistent customer experience and aims to provide polite conversations. Oh well, I’ll be putting my money into a better place.
Bradley Williamson 6 months agoI loved my experience at this gym. I was in town for a month for work and did a monthly membership. Daniel allowed me a few extra days as I crossed into a new month. I also forgot to give them a heads up about cancelling and they waived the fee. Overall amazing support. I would HIGHLY recommend this gym. Gym was cleaned, there are an abundant amount of weights and in the morning it was never crowded. Great if you need a regular gym with all the basics. Loved the pool in the summer.
