I’ve been a member here for about a year, and I can honestly say it’s been great from day one. The staff is friendly, the equipment selection is huge, and the whole place has a welcoming vibe. Cory helped me set up a group guest pass for coworkers visiting from out of town, which was incredibly helpful. Kent at the front desk is always kind and makes mornings better. Sidney’s 6:30 AM Friday class is the best way to end the week — she’s knowledgeable, motivating, and just awesome. And Nick’s intro training sessions taught me more in three workouts than I learned in years of sports. It says a lot that I can easily name four staff members who’ve made a difference. This gym is truly a community. My only complaint... please get some extra ventilation/fans in the locker rooms, too hot to successfully get ready for work after a workout.

The two things this gym has going for it are Kent at the front desk, who greets members by name with a smile, and the city view. Other than that, it will continue to deteriorate as no improvements are made until it’s just another in a long line of Genesis ruins that were once nice, independently owned clubs. I have been with Genesis long enough to understand the business model: purchase a club, invest no money, and keep trading on the reputation of the previous club’s name.

I’ve worked out at the Genesis Kansas City Power & Light location for a while now, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best gym environments I’ve ever been part of. The training staff is extremely knowledgeable and always willing to help, whether you’re just getting started or pushing toward serious fitness goals. The people who work out here are great too — it’s a very positive, motivating crowd, and it’s genuinely a delight to come in and train every day. The equipment is top-notch, well-maintained, and there’s always something available for whatever type of workout you’re doing. With Gage stepping in as Assistant Club Manager and now Cory leading as Club Manager, this place has truly become the most ideal location to exercise in Kansas City. They’ve built what feels like a dream team, including the front desk staff and everyone else who keeps the gym running smoothly. Everyone here is helpful, friendly, and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere makes you want to keep coming back. If you’re looking for a gym in Kansas City with great leadership, amazing staff, and a supportive community, this is the place to be.

I've only been here once (so far) when I was in town for work, but a typically great gym. Lots of good equipment, clean, and between 2 and 4pm on a weekday, not terribly busy. The only complaint is that $25 for 1 workout is steep, especially in comparison to the YMCA ($15) which is only a few blocks away and offers nearly as much equipment.

Great gym with a welcoming atmosphere and everything needed for a solid workout. The facility has free weights, benches, squat racks, and plenty of cardio equipment, including treadmills. The TVs and music also help create a good training environment. The location is very convenient in downtown Kansas City, especially if you’re staying nearby at one of the hotels. It’s a much better option than the typical hotel gym and definitely worth visiting for anyone looking to get a full workout in while in the area.
