Maayan Lev a month agoI was visiting Dallas for about 2.5 months and signed up at Recess because I wanted a gym that felt clean, elevated, and well-maintained. Recess absolutely delivered on that. The gym is consistently spotless, the equipment is always put away, and overall it just feels like a very high-standard space. If you have high expectations for a gym environment, this place will not disappoint. My only small complaint is that the music can be a little loud for my personal preference, but I know that’s subjective. I see others complaining about billing, but anytime I had any concerns and reached out to Paul he was helpful and always responded in a timely manner. He even took the time to sit down with me one on one when I had a billing concern. What really made my experience special, though, was training with Lily. I’ve been weightlifting for years and already know what I’m doing, so I wasn’t necessarily looking for someone to teach me the basics. Honestly, because I was only passing through Dallas, I almost wanted to hire a workout buddy, someone motivating, supportive, and enjoyable to spend time with. Lily exceeded every expectation, both as a trainer and as a person. She tailored every workout to exactly what I wanted and asked for. She took feedback incredibly well, never personally, and always adjusted thoughtfully. From our very first session, I told her I wanted someone who would push me and challenge me, and she absolutely did, in the best way. She’s knowledgeable, well educated in fitness and physical exercise, and also just very well rounded in life experience, which made training with her feel genuinely enjoyable.
Jonathon B. a month agoUnreal gym, best in Dallas by far. Well worth the price idc what anyone says. Doesn’t get better if you like nice high quality aspects to life. Get on the annual plan where ur locked in for a full year at a lower monthly rate you’ll be jacked. Also everyone in this gym just radiates being total winners, and everyone is also super hot and good looking that goes here. I’ve never seen a bad looking person in the 6 months I’ve been going. So if you want to be a hot winner, Recess is it come join.
Eric Burden 6 months agoI had a great experience today. First time at the gym. I did a drop in and bought a week long pass (as I am visiting from out of town) for 75 dollars, which I was happy to pay for the very nice Gym and very nice staff. Tons of equipment and the areas are all separated. Excellent lighting. The Very nice, Very tall gentleman at the front desk gave me a tour. and I had a great workout. the other Gym Goers were respectful of space. I would absolutely do a membership if ai lived in the area.
Asher Booth 2 months agoBest Gym I’ve Ever Been To / Worked At — Here’s Why Pros: - Every trainer and associate is friendly, approachable, and actually knows their stuff when it comes to fitness and training. - The aesthetic is elite — black, white, and gold with tons of natural lighting. Easily one of the best-looking gyms I've EVER been to. - They’re always upgrading. New cold plunge, new equipment, new machines — it never feels outdated. - Even during “rush hours,” it’s not bad. You’re usually waiting 2–3 minutes max for a machine or bench. - The community is 🔥. I’ve worked in with strangers, met new people mid-workout — it’s one of the easiest places to connect with others. - Equipment is legit, and the cleanliness is on another level. Re-rack culture is strong, floors stay clean — it’ll honestly raise your standards for every other gym. Cons: - The day pass is steep — $50 is definitely above average. I understand the pricing, but it seems high for one day. Buy the Week Pass instead... which leads me to - The week pass ($75) doesn’t get credited toward a membership if you were to sign up during that week. It would be a huge win if that cost could go toward the initiation fee if you decide to join during that 7-day pass— I’ve heard this from a lot of people personally, and a lot of potential members walk away because of it. BUT If you live in Dallas or Close to the gym, this is 100% worth every Dollar you spend. The community is strong, the facility is top-tier, and the environment pushes you to be better every time you walk in. Once you experience this gym, you'll get addicted to it!
Nicole Burwick a month agoWalking in the Recess gym for the first time was a refreshing! The vibe was different from what I’ve seen. The front desk guy, Kade was so helpful and friendly. We loved the concept and felt like this was exactly what we’ve been looking for. 10/10 experience! We signed up Monday, started working out on Tuesday. Definitely recommend this spot.
